The sexual revolution of the late 60's and early 70's hit it's revolutariry apex in the summer of 1969, ironically and if not comically labeled " the summer of love" , which drove many youth on the west cost of the USA into a sexual drug and music frenzy the likes of which would rival the orgies of ancient  rome.
